Down-to-earth support built on a solid foundation of knowledge
Serving Haarlem, Amsterdam and the Kennemerland region

I offer personalized doula and birth coaching services tailored to your wishes. I support you during pregnancy, labor, and after the birth.
Vision
I see birth as a natural process in which medical interventions are sometimes needed for support. I guide you and your birth partner, if you have one, through all the wishes and possible outcomes for your birth.
Down-to-earth support, backed by a solid foundation of knowledge
The impact of a doula
Research shows that having a woman present to provide emotional support leads to a more positive birth experience (1). It also significantly reduces the length of labour, medical interventions such as caesarean sections and assisted deliveries, and the use of pain medication (2)
Positief bevallen
With in-depth preparation and continuous support during birth, you’ll be helped to make choices that feel right for you and stay empowered.
This not only brings peace of mind during labor, but also makes for a gentler, more stable transition to parenthood.
Control and confidence
Taking the lead doesn’t mean controlling everything. It means staying involved in what’s happening and being able to make choices that feel right for you.
With good preparation and continuous support, you’ll grow more confident in yourself, your body and the process.
Choose the package that fits your wishes and prepare with our practical courses.

What does a doula do?
A doula is there for you.
Not to take over, but to stand by your side, so you can stay true to yourself, especially when things feel intense or challenging.
Traditionally, women were supported through birth by other women. This is also reflected in art throughout the centuries. Birth was never something you did alone or just with your partner.
That continuous support has largely disappeared from modern care, and that’s exactly what I want to bring back. In a practical way that fits the times we live in.
Pregnancy and birth bring a lot with them: information, choices, advice and expectations. These can be helpful, but they can also leave you feeling unsettled. I help you find your way back to what feels right for you. Together, we’ll explore your wishes and the choices you may face, so you understand what’s happening and what your options are. That way, you can navigate whatever comes with calm and confidence.
I’m with you throughout labour. I create a calm environment, help you relax and offer practical support with breathing, positions, massage and simple, effective techniques. I help you stay connected to your body, especially when things get intense.
And perhaps most importantly: I help you stay in control. Not by controlling everything, but by staying involved. By understanding what’s happening. By helping you make choices that feel right for you, even if things don’t go as you expected.
I’m here for your partner too. So you can truly do this together—as a team, each in your own role.
I don’t take on a medical role. But I make sure you have the space to ask questions, speak up, and make choices.
So you can look back on a birth that was not only good, but right for you.

About Suzanne
Lovely to have you here. I’m Suzanne, a mother of three, married and a certified doula. Born in 1985, I’m passionate about everything to do with maternity care.
My professional background is in healthcare and health economics. For many years, I worked in medical research and with complex decisions in maternity care and pharmacy.
What I often see is that amid all this knowledge, something essential is missing—something that has a major impact on the outcome, including health: emotional support. I believe in the connection between body and mind, and in the power of being truly supported through an intense experience.
That’s what I bring to my work as a doula. I combine a strong foundation of knowledge with practical, compassionate support, so you can not only understand what’s happening, but also feel what’s right for you.
